CORAL REEFS
Sam Coleman
ABOUT THE REEFS
Many organisms within this ecosystem require a water temperature of over 18 degrees, however, 23°–29° is their preferred temperature. A pH between 8.4 and 7.7 is a must for a coral reef.
Corals can tolerate a salinity range of 23–42 ppt. The average ocean salinity is 35 ppt.
For some of the organisms living amongst the reef, a lot of sunlight is also needed.
However, too much sunlight can cause the corals to eject
Which can lead to coral bleaching
