Open Water

This area just outside the reef is home to many other animals that cannot live inside the coral itself, this area requires a fairly large amount of sunlight. 

BANDED SEA KRAIT

The banded sea krait is an animal that has a variety of adaptations to help it survive around the reef

It has a flattened tail to allow for easier movement and can hold its breath for a long time. He also has retained ventral scales to allow for it to move effectively on land too.

SEAGRASS

Seagrass, the plant, has developed a resistance to the high energy waves by firmly anchoring its roots in the seabed.

The Seagrass has also developed a resistance to the salt water to allow to it survive in the salinity levels of the reef.

Seagrass grows in the shallow areas to be exposed to the most amount of sunlight

CLOTH OF GOLD CONE

This highly venomous and dangerous sea snail is one of the most deadly in the sea. It has a venom tip filled with a lethal poison.

The venom tip is able to shoot like a harpoon and extend anywhere out of the shell

​

Several Human Deaths have been recorded as a result of a sting from this snail.
